Reviews for Mr. Stonepot 鍋先生 Eastwood伊士活店
Review highlights
Based on 950 reviewsMr. Stonepot 鍋先生 Eastwood伊士活店 is praised for its authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine, with particular highlights including seafood dishes like barramundi and the popular squid ink rice. The restaurant offers generous portion sizes at affordable prices, making it suitable for casual dining with friends and family. Customers appreciate the menu’s variety and regular updates, which keep the offerings fresh. However, service quality is commonly noted as inconsistent, with issues such as delayed or mixed-up orders, lack of attentiveness from staff, and occasional missing items. Despite these service shortcomings, the overall dining experience remains positive due to the food's quality and value, attracting steady patronage even during busy periods.
The food was fantastic. Prices are great for the portion size. The full barramundi in the red sauce was the highlight. For under $30, it's a great feed for 3 people. Service was quick, but not in order. The soups came Inbetween our meal instead of the beginning. They forgot our tea and dessert. No one visited our table to replace the water, provide paper towels, or cutlery, take away empty plates/dishes or just ask if we needed anything. Smiles are hard for them to come by. BUT, the amazing food simply outshines all this and for that, it gets my positive vote. I'll definitely go back.
Delicious Food, but Service Could Be Improved I recently dined at a Chinese restaurant, and while the food was absolutely delicious, the service left much to be desired. The dishes were flavorful, with each bite showcasing authentic Chinese flavors. From the savory stir-fries to the rich soups, the food was a highlight of the experience. However, the service didn’t match the quality of the food. The staff seemed a bit rushed and impatient, and there was a noticeable lack of warmth in their interactions. The waitstaff appeared to be in a hurry, which made the atmosphere feel a little tense. At times, it felt like they were more focused on moving customers along rather than ensuring a comfortable dining experience. Overall, while the food definitely made up for the service, it would be great if the restaurant could improve its customer service to match the quality of its dishes. Despite the service, I would still recommend this place for its tasty food!
The restaurant was quite big and busy but we didn’t have to wait long. Our favorite was the chicken wings, super flavorful and crispy, the squid ink rice was savory and creamy and noodles had a nice smokiness. However, the beans was quite stringy and the pan fried pork bun was quite oily. The passion fruit was interesting to try and the rice cake had a nice chewiness. Lastly, the portion was massive for the price.
Service is absolute ass. Which means you’re in the right spot for some authentic Chinese cuisine. Lots to choose from and everything is okay. No dish is a standout but you’re in for a good all-round meal. Good to go out for a casual meal with friends or family.
The Mr Stonepot Restaurants are always good for dinner or lunch. There is always a queue outside but we normally don't have to wait too long. This place serves great tasting Chinese food at cheap prices. There are a few solid dishes that have been here from the beginning - Eggplant Breadcrumbs, sweet and sour barramundi and the Prawn and Mussels Squid Ink Rice. They update their menu regularly so you can try new dishes all the time. Seating is a bit too close together for my liking. Staff are quick and so is the food service.
Food was quite good, noodles were ok but I highly recommend the Smoke Lamb Chop. At first I was a bit sceptical about the portion sized however it was more than enough for 3 people as we had to take some home. A slight issue was the snall amount of meat and vegetables inside the rice cake dish but other than that, this place is quite decent.
Happy with the food at Mr Stonepot. Reasonably priced. I visited as a group of 7. We ordered 5 dishes with rice, and it was just right. We arrived at 5:30pm and waited until 6pm to get in! There was already a queue for the Saturday night dinner. We had decided what to order so when the waitstaff came us in, we handed over our order. The food came quite quickly. We did not feel rushed out by the staff, but where we were seated we could see so many people waiting to get in, as courtesy to other customers, we also did not occupy the space for long after finishing our meal, nor did we lounge around.
